Drive

CO2-neutral propulsion plays a central role in the sustainable mobility of the future.

Different variants will exist in parallel – at least temporarily:
conventional combustion engines that run on gas, hydrogen or eFuels in addition to conventional fuels, as well as hybrid and purely electric drives.

In addition to requirements for the application of the conventional powertrain in terms of drivability and emissions, operating strategies, recuperation and torque vectoring are also increasingly in focus in hybrid and electric powertrains.

All drives will also be capable of being diagnosed and updated “over the air”.

automated driving

From active safety to innovative driver assistance to autonomous driving: the demands on the comfort and intelligence of vehicle systems are becoming ever higher. At the same time, their availability and functionality must be guaranteed under all conditions - especially in the higher SAE levels.

Data from sophisticated sensors such as radar, LiDAR and cameras are merged with actuators such as steering, drive and brakes to form highly complex systems using AI algorithms and high-performance computers.

EVOMOTIV specializes in the development, application and validation of these safety-critical systems.

car it

Smart interaction between occupants and vehicle is already of the utmost importance today. In the future, the transition from smartphones and smartwatches to cockpit HMI will be seamless. Users expect intuitive operation, high recognition value and error-free performance in real time.

When it comes to V2X communication, i.e. the exchange of data between several vehicles or vehicles and infrastructure, as well as OTA “over the air” updates, the focus is on security, reliability and protection against cyber attacks.

EVOMOTIV continuously develops these systems and ensures compliance with both technical and legal requirements.

energy systems

Rapid acceleration, sudden braking, maximum range and ecological sustainability place high demands on the energy system. In this respect, batteries and fuel cells have partly contradictory advantages and disadvantages.

EVOMOTIV optimizes energy management systems and their components in order to find the right balance in this field of tension.

driving comfort

Noise and vibrations, summarized under Noise Vibration Harshness (NVH), are crucial for comfort and the feeling of safety as well as the recognition value of the brand.

With the increasing electrification of vehicles, NVH is becoming increasingly important, as the sound quality of auxiliary units is becoming more important and artificial drive noises have to be generated. Increasing automation relieves the driver of his driving task and thus draws additional attention to noise and vibrations.

To support our customers with increasing demands, we offer comprehensive services for NVH design and optimization.

  • Structure: Stuck, panel impact, body torsion and bending, squeak & rattle
  • Drivetrain excited vibrations: gear howling,
  • Wheel / tire induced vibrations
  • Steering wheel rotation and translation
  • Auxiliary units such as pumps, fans, steering, small engines
  • suspension and brakes
  • Active aerodynamics
  • Sound Actuator/Symposer, Active Sound
  • Coherence analysis of airborne and structure-borne sound

  • Creating and interpreting operational vibration analyses
  • Transfer path analyses such as transmission path during unrolling
  • Removing the tire matrix
  • Upgrade area with lifting platforms
  • Evaluation scripts
  • Diadem, MatLAB

driving dynamics

Whether manual acceleration, partially automated braking or fully automated driving - the driving pleasure, safety and well-being of the occupants are largely determined by the coordination of the driving dynamics. Increasingly, controlled systems with high functional safety requirements (ASIL C and D) are taking on this task.

The smooth interaction of hardware and software must be guaranteed in every situation and therefore places high demands on design, development and security.

  • Chassis control systems: Active spring/damper systems, air suspension
  • Brake control systems: ABS, TCS, ASR, DTC, ESP
  • Steering: Electric steering systems (Steer by Wire)

entire vehicle

In the area of the complete vehicle, in addition to the brand-typical design, the focus is primarily on the technically oriented fields of aerodynamics, thermal and climate management and the structure. The cross-domain integration of hardware and software into the overall system takes place here over the various phases of the development process.

Based on calculations, simulations and component testing during development, the overall vehicle testing shows how well the interaction has worked. The user experience and perceived quality are the focus of the objective and subjective evaluation.
